Sarah Baker

Sarah joined Bridgnorth Writers in 20016 and since then has self published her first picture book, Sid ... The Catapult Kid.

 

Sarah gives high energy, interactive readings to children in EYFS and KS1, and has visited over 20 schools across Shropshire and Staffordshire. Future projects include publishing Sid’s second adventure, finishing her first novel (73,862 words and counting!!!) and developing her interest in ‘grown-up’ poetry. 

 

Sarah is currently building a portfolio of picture book texts, exploring a different childhood mental health issue in each story.

Little Silver Lining was a winner in the Bedtime Story Competition at The Wolverhampton Literature Festival in February 2021.

Little Silver Lining is a picture book that shines a light on the experience of a child-carer whose parent has depression. It was written in response to the rise in mental illness during lockdown.
